The Scotsman Steps.

Each of the 40 steps going up from Market Street to the North Bridge by the Scotsman building are laid with a different type of marble. The artist was Martine Creed from Glasgow. The original steps were built in 1899. There are now gates at the top and bottom which are locked at night.
