Road trip
Breakfast was at Bill's again this morning; every town should have a Bill's!
We had another quick look around the Laines as Mr A had spotted a couple of things yesterday (but didn't want to carry them round).
However, he had no luck finding what he wanted. I, on the other hand, bought a ring that I'd seen yesterday and regretted not buying, so I have a nice souvenir from Brighton.
We decided to leave Brighton at lunch and drive to Stonehenge, as it was kind of on the way home and close enough for us to warrant a visit.
What we didn't realise was that on the way, we passed through Portsmouth, so we stopped off there as well.
We saw the Spinnaker Tower and visited the docks with the intention of seeing the Mary Rose. However, she is still being restored so we could only visit the small museum there, but we did get to see the ships bell.
We saw a couple of old ships, including the HMS Victory.
So, finally onto Stonehenge where we refused to pay £15.50 each to look at some old stones, so instead viewed them for free from a layby! It was really a case of us being able to say we'd seen them, so we weren't particularly bothered to join the massive queues of people waiting to stand in a field.
Time was ticking on by this point and breakfast was a long time ago, so we stopped off in Newbury for food. Would you believe it....they had a Bill's!!!!
It's been a fab weekend and I had a great birthday. It seems a shame to go back to work tomorrow :-(
