Mono Monday . . . Reflecting On The Past

Mirror to the past
Calm reflection of winter
Foliage small boat

With no wind it was perfect day to hunt down reflections.  I suggested a drive to Lake Rerewhakaaitu.  Pronounced Rere-fa-ka-i-too.  The forester was happy with that idea and we went down a few side roads to check out special trees he had had planted for varying reasons.  I taught at the wee Rerewhakaaitu school before having my family and we lived in the forest village nearby.    As we drove and reflected his sage words were: the trees don't care who owns them.  They keep growing regardless.  He was pleased to see his different species of trees were still there and doing well.  This is a shallow lake but it is stocked with trout and we used to swim there after work in the summer.
The route home was also not the direct one and we went to the best free mud pool because there were redwood trees planted beside it during his time.  They are also still growing away.  I included the mud pool and another shot of the lake in the extras because I can.
A lovely drive  reflecting and contemplating things past.
