Composition No 2010 - Polphail Ghost Village
In the early 1970's the UK Government had the brilliant idea of building concrete oil rigs.
Millions were spent, the Argyll countryside was ripped apart and at the end of the day the scheme was abandoned when the oil industry failed to place orders. Seems steel was favoured over concrete.
The workers accomodation still survives albeit home to bats and some rather tasty graffiti .............
