Ready
I was in Lidl just after 9 this morning to buy coffee.
When I got to the checkout, 3 people were in front of me. A man in his 20s was at the cash desk.
His card was declined. He was buying bread, milk and other basics costing about £9.
He took a couple of things out of his bag and gave them back. The cashier took them off his bill, and he put his card in again.
Declined.
This happened 3 more times and eventually the cash machine crashed when the bill was down to about £6. The rest of us went to the next checkout. As I was leaving I saw that all his stuff had been abandoned at the checkout.
No-one in the queue got angry. The checkout operator got frustrated, but stayed in control. We all just felt so sad and embarassed for him. We couldn't look.
Anyway, some YouTube therapy has restored my soul - a bit.

The Blip - my "special occasion" shoes. Weddings, funerals etc. They've seen better days, but then so has their owner.
Polished up and ready (them, not me).
