My Home is My Castle

Schouwenhoeve is a really nice mansion in Wassenaar. The richest town in the Netherlands. This modest home was for sale last year for a modest 4 million euro's and thats called a bargain. Slightly above my budget anyway ;-)

There is a nice history. It was built in 1917 as a second home to the family Berlage, one of the most famous Dutch Architects of that time.

In 1928 it caught fire and was rebuilt to the state it's in nowadays.
It's really special with a straw roofing.
