Not a ferris wheel!

It's the Falkirk Wheel , an amazing piece of engineering that lifts the barges or boats form the lower canal level to the higher level without lockes, and does it without using much energy. It takes longer to load the boat with tourists than it takes to raise it to the upper level.
The decision today was whether to post the old ( Stirling Castle -see the extra, a very uninspired tourist shot. But one that illustrates how hard that castle must been to have to attack .) or the new Falkirk Wheel . The new won out. We somehow managed to stop at Stirling and Falkirk and get to Edinburgh  from Oban in one day and still make dinner in the Old Town. Thai , Elise said  no more bar food. So we only have 1 day to let her explore the city and then it's time to go home. I must confess I am not ready to go back to reality.
