mind the gap

An early start to try and beat the rain, which wasn’t necessary as it’s been dry all day.  

What I did beat was the traffic. The county’s supply of no parking cones must be in use between here and Windermere. It’s the Great North Swim this weekend and every year sees more competitors braving the chilly waters of Windermere. There are ‘park and walk’ signs out, and others that say ‘no stopping or dropping off’.  If we go out it will be north.

The intense rain of Wednesday has penetrated further than we realised and there’s no escaping the fact that we need a new roof. Our preferred builder has been contacted and we await further information. In the meantime the loft must be cleared so I intend to make a start this weekend. 

For a while I may be blipping intermittently, comments will be few but stars will continue to be sprinkled. Will be turning my comments off too.
