London 1948

One of the best finds in the bag of old stamps I've mentioned before was this mint set of 1948 London Olympics postage stamps. Seems appropriate to blip them today when the Royal Mail are issuing a new set of stamps to coincide with today's opening ceremony. Apparently they plan to issue special gold stamps every/any time a GB team members wins an event. I managed to get a ticket for the table tennis semi-finals which I've given to my son as he plays for his university team.
