Red Skye in the evening

Cathleen and I drove up to Skye from Cowal late this afternoon in order to be at a family wedding on the island tomorrow.

We weren't sure when we would get to our hotel so we decided to meet Cailean for dinner somewhere on the way. He had got a lift from Edinburgh.

In the past we would have required either to take pot luck or seek informed local advice . In the era of on line reviews however it is interesting to sample a wide range of other people's opinions and to see where consensus lies -and then put it to the test.

"Red Skye" - in the old school at Breakish which used to be the base of the West Highland Free Press" - seemed worth trying and it turned out to be excellent. A great name too !
