Then to the Alnwick Playhouse to watch Florence Foster Jenkins, a film (starring Meryl Streep, Hugh Grant and Simon Helberg) based on the true story of a New York heiress and patron of the arts who dreamed of becoming an opera singer despite having a terrible singing voice. Funny and, at times, poignant.
