Parties in the Parks
Technically, the Queen's 'party' was the Trooping The Colour ceremony and Horse Guard's Parade isn't quite a park ( it was Henry VIII's jousting yard ), but never the less an impressive affaire.
Ours was a bit less formal, with a picnic in the park across the road from us, bring your own food and drinks with entertainment provided, particularly for the kids.
No marching, no horses, but we had cake!
Plus, England beat Australia in the rugby, so take that people Down Under who get a day off for The Queen's Official Birthday and whilst we here in the U.K. do not!
