Square eyes...
Awake early, then joined in bed by the youngest charge and her iPad. A quick shower, kids fed and dressed, dropped off at their Grandma's, and then home to Iain and the SBG.
Picnic made, bus money counted, and then into town to bag a spot in St Andrew Square for Big Hero 6, as part of the EIFF. It had been raining most of the morning, but stopped by the time we got there. The kids were very excited, even though they'd all seen the film "nine times already ".
Picnic blanket out, picnic food handed out, Barney's Volcano IPA bought from the Pickerings Gin cart for the adults - we were good to go!
It was a bit chilly and Iain and I wished we'd taken the camping chairs, but apart from that it was great fun.
As we'd bought a family day ticket on the bus, we went for a spin on the trams- I say spin, it was from St Andrew Square to Shandwick Place, and then back.
We wandered down to the Fruitmarket to look round the Design Market which is there all weekend. There were some great things for sale. I bought a couple of things, including the new Carson Ellis book from the bookshop. Afterwards we went to look at the new Arches development along Market St. The kids experienced their first bubble tea drink (a hit all round) before we headed back home.
A couple of hours of drawing, Lego building and stories before bed for the SBG, then we settled down with some gin to celebrate World Gin Day. It would have been rude not to...
