Moses

It is a sad fact that most Greek villagers never take their cats or dogs to the vet. The result is often some chronic infections and the loss of some eyes. This does not prevent these unfortunate animals from procreating and an abundance of unwanted puppies or kittens is no rarity.

Equally, it is not the done thing to actually kill an animal (unless your purpose is to eat it), better to apply the 'Moses' principle and leave the matter in the hands of God. Instead of a nice basket woven from leaves and a river flowing gently through rushes, the favoured practice involves a bin bag and a dumpster. Should a kindly person be passing said dumpster and hears the sorry mewling or whining, they might be so inclined to rescue the youngsters therein, or, kindly, bosh them swiftly upon the head to mitigate their suffering.

But I have never before witnessed the same cruelty inflicted upon a Disney toy Tigger. At least the (lavender) perfumed bin bag separating it from the rest of the trash indicates that the householder would like it to find a loving home.
