French campsites are amazing. Not only does every small town seem to have a municipal campsite with excellent facilities, lots of space (some are practically empty) but the going rate seems to be only 15 Euros for the 4 of us and 2 tents. And the dawn choruses at this time of year are spectacular: with wrens, song thrush and nightingales in the mix it is no surprise. And then there is the other wildlife. At this campsite we not only had frogs but also a large grass snake.

Today we went from Nogent to Alencon. There is a Route Verte connecting the two along a disused railway line which we used for a part of the way. But a part of the joy of cycling in France is going through villages and stopping, which we did today. For lunch. Opposite a rather grand photography gallery (see extra).
