The Sarthe

Alencon is an attractive city in southern Normandy. Unprepossessing, with a University and another magnificent French cathedral. 2 of our party decide to explore the city whilst the other 2 head out to explore the countryside along the river Sarthe. Steep wooded valleys, with several arrows on the map, and attractive villages. And another very satisfying lunch stop before sheltering in a church to let a thunder storm roll through.
