Today would have been Mum's 85th birthday, the first without her.  I really missed not being able to tell her about our holiday and show her all the photos.  I miss not speaking to her every day, and being able to find out how to cook something.  This is an abstract of a sweet pea, which has a connection to us both.  Her grandfather, my great grandfather, painted a bowl of sweet peas, and it was a picture she gave me many years ago.  I really love the image.  She had a go at painting sweetpeas too, which was really nice.  I haven't tried, because I'm not very good at at painting in watercolour, so I paint with photos instead.  Happy Birthday Mum.
