Bee happy
June-July is the time for orchids, and what better for flower friday than a bee orchid. It really does look a happy flower....I don't know how much that's to do with it being a self-pollinator!
The bee orchid is one of the few wild orchids that is managing to hold it's own in a wild-life hostile world and can be found in unimproved grasslands and meadows with chalk bases, as well as quarries, pits and spoil tips and even clay soils. So perhaps that's the secret .... be tolerant of your surroundings.
It's not quite a twist, but it does have 3 petals !
