Life of Riley? Moi?
Today I had to go to hospital for my pre-op assessment. I had my height and weight measured for the umpteenth time. I don't suppose my height varies much.
I had to be there at 8am, and I was told it could take three hours. But I was taken right away, did all the questionnaires, provided all the samples, had another chat with my surgeon, had an ECG, and I was out by 9.30!
Anne kindly came and rescued Archie not long after we left, and what a fun day he had. A bus journey - top front seat, on Anne's knee - (don't get used to it, Arch) to a business meeting which included a walk to an allotment. They then went by bus to Braidburn Valley Park, where he had a good run around with another dog. He came back tired out - thanks Anne. Such a Life of Riley that dog leads!
It was a pretty miserable day here - ideal for watching football in sunny France, then tennis in sunny London, so I was happy enough.
Archie sometimes has this silly look when part of his beard is stuck in his mouth, which is hilarious. He posed like this while I chuckled and took lots of photos.
I wonder if the Remain Camp find it rather inconvenient that MPs have been quizzing the odious Sir Philip Green, while they are campaigning that we need the EU to protect workers from 'bad employers'?
He got away with paying his BHS workers as little as possible, stripping the business of hundreds of millions of pounds over 15 years before selling it (for £1) to a completely dodgy character and leaving the workforce with no pensions?
Interesting times!
EDIT: Tragic news about the killing of the young MP.
