Here we go.......
.....somehow I've failed to notice that our Syrah is starting to ripen. The stage of turning from green to black is known as veraison. Harvest is usually around 40 days after veraison, so, barring disasters, we'll probably be harvesting the Syrah during the first week of September. The Grenache isn't far behind, but the Cinsault and Carignan haven't started yet.
Actually the Carignan looks awful, having succumbed to oïdium despite our best spraying efforts. The weather conditions were just against is and Carignan is particularly susceptible.
