Montalcino

The taxi transported us to our next hotel in Montalcino, a lovely old hill town with a castle. We climbed the tower for the view of the pretty town and beautiful green countryside.

The hotel is perched on the edge of a cliff with the pool perched even further out. It was lovely to cool off there after the wander in the town,

At night we had a taster menu in Il Giglio. Fab food! And different wines,including the excellent Brunello dinMintalcino. I wonder if Majestic sells it?
