Mystery object!

I could have blipped so many different things today. My family in the garden enjoying my homemade fruit scones with the 9p double cream; a small newt discovered when digging out neat edges round my borders; my newly made pattern neatly laid out on the material I bought a week or so, just before I cut it...or just after. But in the end I chose this! In the final hole, carefully dug by Jon and Dan as it shaved the soil pipe, another piece of metal. I know we don't know what it is, but I do like it and it is staying in my summerhouse for now. We are generally presuming these are all old bits of farming machinery as the house was built in the 80s and it is a rural farming area. I suppose we will never know.

Mollie worked today on the pier. We seemed to fill our day in the garden. When i collected Mollie at 3.30, Cromer was buzzing with people, mostly eating ice cream. It reminded me that we live by the seaside and need to take advantage of that next time we have a sunny weekend!

Cooked a nice roast, appreciated by everyone. Now tackling the pattern. The material is light and slippery and is going to be tricky to sew...but fun trying.

A busy challenging two weeks ahead of us. Jon & Dan off to Cambridge in the morning. Delivery of the conservatory plus concrete, ballast and sand Wednesday. A scout camp to plan for at the weekend, then Henry's birthday the following week. I've got all our euros now and have shared them out.....we are really going to need our holiday by the time August gets here
