Brown-crested Flycatcher
Hmmm... Where did this guy come from? It's a first for me! I am getting a bit of a variety of different birds in my yard, especially around the watering holes recently. I suppose it's because of the heat.
The Brown-crested Flycatcher is also known as "Wied's Crested Flycatcher." It was a difficult identification because the resemblance with the Dusky-capped Flycatcher is so close. Both are found in southern AZ and New Mexico.
I have a very busy week ahead, featuring five medical appointments including two today. Have a great week! Oh, and HAPPY SUMMER!
(or winter, as the case may be!)
