No control
Back in 1975, we had control of our borders and even our money. Those were the days when the "Great" in Britain meant something. The country was on its knees and as good as written off.
However, we knew what money was worth then.
This form was glued inside one's passport and every penny you took out of the country or brought back in had to be recorded!
Wretched EU doesn't have any limits nowadays (2017) but does insist one declares any cash you have on you above 10,000 Euros. Typical EU Brussels snooping into our private business.
I have no idea (now in 2017) where I was going and why. From this photo, one might think I didn't get to go anywhere as I returned exactly the same amount of cash as I left with.
However in a day or so you will see the Passport Visa stamp at the Hoek van Holland.
A puzzle that I hope to solve as I comb through old photos. Bit worried as this was the time I was going out with girlfriend Annabel and virtually all photos of this period were lost/destroyed.
Annie was always very careful with money and seemingly she controlled the purse strings - but back then I had only just started to earn money and although a student nurse at the Middlesex Hospital in London, she clearly had more disposable income than I did.
