GARDEN PLATE:

Well you knew it had to be........CHINA ! Through the wizardry of the internet I booked a 10 day trip with "Travel China" & a guide met me at the Railway Station & from there on in I was escorted all the way in a small group of twelve. LOVED CHINA. It was just a shame a million Chinese took their holiday at the same time !!! Saw all the touristy things & lots of others as well ! Loved the old part of Beijing, & the Great Wall, puzzled over the Warriors, but hated Shanghai which appeared to be the spiritual home of concrete. It was obvious all the children were being taught to be friendly & speak English; in every town they would come up & say "pleased to meet you" but that was the sum total of their conversation ! Tried so hard in every city to buy a blue & white plate with the Great Wall on, but this was the nearest ??? I said to my guide "but that's NOT the wall !" She said in a sing songy voice "ahbutlooksee, the top there, part wall". I looked, but I could not see. It was hot. I was tired. I bought it. Well at least it is my biggest plate !
