One Man's Pride
....another's Envy.
Back in 1967 when the farmer used this grass self-loading wagon for the first time, he was probably the only one for miles around with such a contraption, even though the first ones had come off the production lines in Austria in 1963.
Pottinger went on to become the worlds biggest manufacturer of such machines. This bliped skeleton is of an "LW14" the first model they built. A revolution in grassland farming. It could weigh when loaded 2.7 tons and needed a tractor with 16hp to pull it. A modern day version needs up to 130hp and weighs 15 tons.
