2016 Monday -- Los Osos Farmer's Market
On Mondays our routine is becoming to include a trip to Los Osos (10 minute drive) for the Farmer's Market. Our "soup lady or chef" is there, sorry this photo does not include soup (previous posts do).
This summer finding a routine is a priority for me (surely more than it is for Mr. Fun), but I'm the more driven of the two of us. I'm motivated by "accomplishment." I don't know why; it's simply part of my MO or DNA. Mr. Fun, on the other hand, is more "C'est la vie" or "Que Sera, Sera" (Whatever Will Be, Will Be) so his days usually have no mandated direction -- there's no reason for them to and he's been retired for two years and enjoys his days immensely.
Today we bought lots of veggies and three little baskets of the sweetest strawberries; they are as sweet as a lump of sugar.
We purchased two jars of Stephanie's soup; one of each flavor:
1. Ribolitta (see above discription)
2. Creamy carrot quinoa
She used Slo Grown Produce‘s georgeous tomatoes a new soup called Ribolitta, which is an Italian white bean and vegetable soup with white bread. Kirsten of "Little Red Hen Bread" was kind enough to make some extra sourdough loaves for Stephanie to add into the soup for a little non-traditional twist. Steph said, "The test batch turned out great."
Even though most of California is experiencing a heat wave, I wore two zip-up sweatshirts as we walked through the Farmers Market because of the cold ocean breeze.
So, the day is done; the Ribolitta has been devoured; and we are both satisfied.
Rosie (& Mr. Fun), aka Carol
