Olympics 2012 - Hampden - GOAL !!!!

I know I am very concernd about the commercialisation of the Olympics and the vast amount of money spent in showcasing the Openeing ceremony by every Host Country, but wasn't last night's ceremony incredible!!

Today we were at Dumbarton's ground for their cup game against Queen of the South, unfortunately a win was not for us, denied 2 penalties and playing some lovely attacking football, a Queen's goal late in the game meant we lost 1-0.

from there we headed up to Hampden hoping to see the glorious USA womens's team put on a feast of football.We got there in time to see the second half of the game, yes they scored 3-0 but the very young Columbia team held them to 1-0 till late in the second half. The goals were excellent but the football was lack lustre.

France v Korea was a much better game with some truly excellent defensive work from both teams , particularly the French tno 2 who went on to score their 5th goal , all five goals were superb , some lovely passes both short and long absolutely spot on.

Great atmosphere at both games . That's it for us as we are headed off on holiday tomorrow night.

Tonight's blip , although not my best football action shot ,shows the French no 4 scoring their first goal from a perfectly flighted corner shot. Fab header. Bit tricky getting good shots given the distance from our seats to the pitch
