.... Katie has had to think through respecting a persons right to an opinion even though it differs your own
.... Katie has seen people exercising their right and privilege to express their democratic preference
.... Katie has formed and stood up for her own opinion.
.... Katie has participated in and seen the voting process in action

Whatever the outcome tonight and long term, those are things I am very proud of and lessons that I hope she carries with her for a long time. She has conducted herself with class and maturity in the process, as have the children of a good number of my friends. Long may it last.
