Sunburst

This, to me, looks like the sun is exploding into my camera lens!

It is a Hypericum Calycinum and there are a number of them dotted about the garden (I do like plants that plant themselves - lol) ....... as well as some other varieties.

Try a little larger

I love the way the stamens (??) are protruding from the centre 'bulb' of the flower almost reaching out to the world. (I wonder what was in my cup of tea to make me talk so fancifully this morning??)

Anyway, I think it's pretty!!!!

Update: Seems my Purple Loosestrife from yesterday wasn't (loosestrife) - I am very, very reliably informed that it is, in fact, Purple Toadflax - the owner of this journal regrets any pain or hurt caused to strife or toads by the mis-identification of said plant.
