Afternoon nap

We indulged ourselves today with some commercial tourism. We spent a few hours at a place called Bear Country U.S.A. which has several kinds of bears, sheep, wolves, and buffalo in their natural habitats, where you drive your car slowly through to view all the animals. This young bear was taking  a nap and using the log as a support system.

After Bear Country we headed to a place called Reptile Gardens which has one of the largest collections of snakes and reptiles in the country.

Then we came back to the cabin to rest a bit, and then headed into the town of Custer, South Dakota for dinner and some souvenir shopping. We ate at a place called Bitter Esters Brewhouse and had delicious dinners, plus tried out some hard pear cider (delicious!).

We have one more day tomorrow and then we start the long drive home. Our traveling companion is a Viet Nam veteran and he wanted to stop into the local VFW, so we did that also. We sat at the bar and had a drink and chatted with some of the other people and had just a lovely time.
