Bee Orchid

"To attract pollinating bees, the Bee Orchid has evolved bee-like flowers; drawing them in with the promise of love, the bees are naturally attracted to the flowers and fly in to attempt a mating. As they land on the velvet-textured lip of the flower, the pollen is transferred and the poor bee is left frustrated. Sadly, the right species of bee doesn't occur in the UK, so Bee Orchids are self-pollinated here. Look out for their diminutive flower spikes on dry, chalk and limestone grasslands from June to July."

What a day!  Participating in the referendum count was so interesting. In Milton Keynes it was impossible to tell as we went along how the vote would go, it ended at pretty much the same as the overall vote. I got away at 3:40 am and found my car had a tyre pressure warning light. So I checked it at 9am as I was due to drive to Holt to view a new property and it was flat as a pancake. Managed to get a new tyre fitted at the Nissan garage who were really excellent (the old had a nail in it).

After packing and a 3 hour drive I just made it to the appointment, loved the bungalow, offered the full asking price and had it accepted! The vendors are in a position to move as they have an offer accepted on somewhere with vacant possession. The agent has checked my position with my agent and contacted my solicitor. As the agent for the other house I was interested in hasn't even asked for my solicitor's details in three weeks, I don't feel bad about pulling out.

Oh, and we voted to leave the EU, the Prime Minister resigned and the markets went into turmoil - just another thing that happened today!

(The bee orchid was on the grass verge of the street I'm hoping to live in)
