Foxgloves

Our first visit to Benmore Gardens in several weeks - we found it incredibly lush after the sun and the rain. This hillside shot of foxgloves is really only an attempt to vary the photos I take here - so a completely wild moment, complete with obligatory bee if you look carefully. I've added an extra photo of some extraordinary ferns that are just emerging at the very top of the garden - a recent planting.

I can never see foxgloves without remembering how when I was small my mother would put the flowers on her fingers and chase me while I screamed "foxy fingers ...". I have now adopted the practice with my granddaughters - though I can't see the boys being equally terrified!
