A Charm of Hummingbirds
Sue's sister and her husband have built an amazing house high on a hillside overlooking the high prairie near Goldendale, Washington. We spent the day with them, watching cloud shadow on the hills, light on Mt. Adams, and enjoying a charm of hummingbirds (I lost count after the first dozen). Sue's sister has planted a garden to attract hummers and bees. There are deer, bear, cougar, bobcat, coyotes, and many other critters on their land, and the birdlife is stunning. Sue's sister loves to cook and rose to the challenge of everyone's dietary issues with poached tuna served with many wonderful side dishes and fresh marionberry pie for dessert. As the day ended we watched the sunset around Mt. Adams (see Extra).
