Great Spotted Woodpecker

Just wading through the papers this morning when Mrs P made it downstairs and then summoned me out of my chair. This woodpecker was at our peanut hanger. This is a first for me but they are magnificent birds so hope to see it again. Grabbed a camera and had to shoot through the kitchen window with secondary glazing. Have found by experience that for best results need to get very close to the window but decided not to risk it with this bird. It flew off after a short time but I'm hoping to get another chance sometime.
