Hebrides Day 10, Moving on to North Uist
Even though we had rain we still had a great day.
We left the Guest House in Nunton and went looking for 'Treshnish's ' field with pansies. I think we found it but it was pouring so could nt take a close look. These geese were enjoying eating the tops of some the plants, enjoying the Machair as much as us :)
We drove down lots of little roads watching owls and red shanks. We saw a seal swimming in a loch, a cat on a tractor and more random chickens crossing the road.
Had a coffee and cake in Langass Lodge where we stayed before. We drove round the top of North Uist and have now settled in to our next Guest House overing looking Loch Sandary, a croft house dating from 1800.
We have heard Corncrake really closeby and a snipe has been drumming overhead. Also delighted to see male and female hen harriers.
