Frosty morning
It was frosty in many senses!
Corin stayed up playing Spiderman-Web of Shadows till 3 in the morning (last night) so I was a bit 'frosty' this morning. Made all the worse when I came downstairs to find that he had left the living room window open all night so it was freezing in there (poor cats huddled together on the sofa!). And then I found that he hadn't locked the back door either! Oh yeah. I was frosty - which is probably why stayed in bed, out of my way, until after James and I went to PC World at 12 o clock.
Fortunately, having successfully set up XBox live (after updating the XBox) and troubleshooted my internet connection on my PC as well, I had defrosted somewhat. A little bit of domestic goddess behaviour in the kitchen also warmed me up somewhat (I have made chocolate orange maccaroons and I have to say they are delicious - nice and crisp on the outside with a lovely toffee like centre. MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!).
Anyway, whilst being frosty this morning, I decided to get outside and take some photos in the back garden (as it was easy to access due to the unlocked back door!) - it was beautiful with a real thick layer of spiky frost. Good opportunity to play about a bit with depth of field which I am trying to master (most of my photos are more accident than design - but I think I have figured it out now!). Realised afterwards that perhaps I should have switched the dial round to the macro setting as well - but I can't be bloody right all of the time!
The other ones are here
So thats that. I have another 8 exam papers to mark then they are all done (my kiddiewinkles have done me proud so far - even with my 'harsh' marking they have met their targets and some have spactacularly smashed them - good kids!). Spent about 8 hours yesterday re-drafting a 'marking' policy for work and compiling a 12 page presentation along with major amendments to some documents provided by an external advisor which had some spurious interpretations of our school results - all ready for a meeting tomorrow which will last about 3 hours!
Then staff training tomorrow afternoon where it is distinctly possible that I might not escape unscathed, seeing as I am introducing the new marking and assessment policy to the whole staff - hope no-one has any rotten tomatoes! A song lyric is in my head - sums my state of mind "consumed with what's to transpire"
