Island Queen
13.3C with smir and drizzle on and off through the morning. Drier in the afternoon and a bit brighter. Light to moderate SSE breeze.
Apothecary7's day off. Should have been yesterday but one of the other Pharmacists had asked to swap. Bonus for Apothecary7 is that Tuesday is "Art in the Hothouse " at Glenbarr and next Tuesday's class on her scheduled Tuesday off is cancelled.
We went to Glenbarr for about 10.30am and had coffee/tea and cranberry slice then Apothecary7 got her art materials from the car and joined the group in the hothouse. Maeve the Deerhound and I went to Tayinloan.
At Tayinloan, where the ferry goes to the island of Gigha, Maeve and I wandered along the beach. It was a very different day to a fortnight ago when it was sunny. I had waterproofs on so I could enjoy wandering. We went North along the beach to the wreck of Island Queen. Islay and Jura were visible although not clear. We just wandered about on the beach and the time went by amazingly quickly.
We went back to Glenbarr. The art class had been fun again. A very nice painting had been produced. Apothecary7 and I had lunch. Maeve waited in the car.
On the way home we stopped at Westport beach and had a walk. The waves were the biggest we have seen so far. Quite amazing waves ! The tide was coming in quite quickly too.
