Our last day in Iceland today, and we left Reykjavik early morning to explore the western peninsula. We started at Reykjanes Peninsula, where fish heads and bones are air dried before being sold to Africa where they grind the bones to make soup! (extra 1) From there we explored much of the peninsula's coastline. I thought the main image of the black sand, mountains and hills topped with threatening cloud summed up Iceland perfectly. The lone figure walking along the road added a vital sense of scale (one of my guests). The extra is of an off-shore rock / island, I loved the shape.
