Daubers

This is the site of one of the many old mills on the Water of Leith.

I was here some time and took some pictures of the graffiti.

The site was due to be developed into houses (various companies have been trying to do this unsuccessfully for a good 15 years now). So 6 months ago all the graffiti walls that were previously here were demolished - along with a couple of hundred of really old trees. (I'm a bit more bothered about the trees as it happens.)

Now it turns out that the developer has gone into liquidation. To top it all they chopped down all those lovely trees before they even had received final planning permission.

So the site is probably going to sit another 15 years now - blocking a right of way, minus the trees and minus the pretty pictures as well.
