Lupins

Had forgotten how dramatic the lupins are along the river banks! ut the car in for service and wandered back along the river and through the woods.Found an old Flora where the blue lupin is known as the Scottish Thistle, so perhaps not escapes as often considered. The A9 has verges of them for miles at a stretch and the Spey certainly has acres of them.
Several families of Sandpipers were perching, flying and calling all along the path and over the rocks. great sound!
The Melancholy Thistles were just coming out.
