Yellow

When Maeve the Deerhound and I were out this morning at about 7am there were no cars parked in front of this bright yellow building. It is one of my favourite buildings in town. I like the colour. The blue painted building next to it makes it really stand out. It is easily picked out from the shipyard.
After lunch Maeve and I went for a walk. Van Morrison on the iPod Mini (Avalon Sunset then Down the Road). We went round to the harbour, went along by the ferry terminal, and followed the shore side of the park. We stopped at the Marie Curie field of hope and I had a seat on a bench and listened to some tunes. The tide was almost fully out. I watched a gannet diving. Maeve stood beside me.
The Gannet was soaring up in a spiral then gliding above the shallows. Its dives came suddenly and in a second it would pop back up to the surface. After a moment or two it took off again and flew further along the shore before going into the rising spiral again. I watched it repeat the process until it was out of sight beyond the NATO jetty.
We carried on out Kilkerran road to Glenramskill House, then turned and came back the same way. We came along the street side of the park and back home through town.
Whilst writing this text I have been listening to Van Morrison's Astral Weeks album.Next is Nazareth ... now where are those 30" flared jeans and platform boots ...
