183/366 1st July  Flags !  At 7.30 am the 100th anniversary of the Battle of the Somme was remembered with 2 minute’s silence and memorial services, in Bridport this was held at the war memorial after the silence the names of local men who had lost there lives in the conflict were read out, very moving. While walking to the ceremony I reflected on the fact that 100 years ago on this day over 19,240 lost there lives that would have been twice the population of Bridport, so every man woman & child in town would have been dead by nightfall, that thought sort of brings it home to you.  More photo’s here https://www.flickr.com/photos/7656159@N08/albums/72157669836005902
