Steminists
I 'starred' in a webcast interview about UK initiatives to support women's academic careers in science a few weeks ago. Since then a number of colleagues in Australian universities have been in touch to learn more about my work in this area, including some who have come to see me in person on campus by fitting in a visit to Edinburgh as part of a trip to Europe.
Amongst these were two from Curtin University in Perth. When they visited they mentioned their 'steminist' group (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths + feminist), and promised to send me a couple of steminist T shirts when they returned home.
So here are the T shirts, modelled by yours truly (left) and my mathematician pal Kate (right) at lunchtime. This was a fun moment in the middle of a day that comprised five meetings.
Mr hazelh's back seems to be improving. He managed to dance a little this evening when we popped out to see Jack's band play in Leith.
Exercise today: walking (16,001 steps).
