Brilliant Blue
It was a bright blue morning —some of us got out on the water to enjoy it… Here’s the 3 boys in boats. Oskar in the old Livingston dinghy that his Dad used as a kid, only with a new electric motor, Nik in a kayak and their Dad in my new boat.(he would have been an awesome rower with his build and athletic abilities) H and I in the Alden double. (Yes I messed with it a bit…)The rest of crew were too late as a big wind came up for them. But still the sons took all the kids to Galiano for ice cream later and a trip to the bookstore. . (We’ll miss that when they go home and leave the kids next week).
The extra is a composite of the 4 artworks from yesterday -the assignment was to collect 10 things, at least 8 from nature in this Canadian country, and then to arrange them as a still life design on a piece of paper with or without a frame. The little crab in the upper right one was only there for a moment. We took photos and printed them out so this is a photo of the 4 printed pages which are in the process of being hand colored with colored pencils…. another picture later……?
And for something amusing: someone found a yellow and black container with a cartridge of Kodak Advantix Film. ASA 200, 25 exp. On asking them what it was, Niklas (13) says its either a battery, or maybe toner for a printer,. Tatum (12) says maybe thats it but at least something technological, Fiona (6) says it holds medicine, and Oskar (11) says it goes in a camera.!!!
Film?? what’s that???? does this make us feel old????
