Getting the sparkle back

View down the Tweed Valley

This is the River Tweed upstream from where we usually walk, not far from its source. The white building on the left of the photo is the Crook Inn where we started the walk. Sadly it's been empty for years and is looking quite derelict. It's been bought by the local community with the aim of restoring it to be an inn again - there were proposals to turn it into flats but these were met with a lot of opposition from the locals. In the middle distance on the right of the picture is a field of deer being farmed - not a very common sight.

The weather was a bit mixed - not much sunshine with occasional showers, but the worst part of the walk was lunchtime at Talla Reservoir. It didn't take long for us to attract clouds of midges and we beat a retreat, eating as we went.
