Visions of Sugar Plums

The least crappy of only a handful of photos today, this is the pas de deux from a rather unimpressive performance of The Nutcracker. The hour-long version was put on by a company of only eleven dancers and geared toward young children. Forty minutes would have been plenty, as that was about when the mostly ten-and-under crowd started getting a little restless.

My daughter had been looking forward to it all day, and the most important thing is that she enjoyed it. She said tonight before she went to bed, "Mama, I want to have sweet dreams, just like Clara." I certainly hope you do, sweetie.

Edited to add: Not to worry - I didn't use flash! Can you imagine? That would probably be considered a faux pas de deux ;)
