Maria Sharapova
Such a great day!
We went to Wimbledon to watch the first round of the Olympic tennis. We were fortunate enough to see 4 matches:
Goerges (Germany) v Radwanska (Poland)
Wawrinka (Switzerland) v Murray (Great Britain)
Peer (Israel) v Sharapova (Russia)
Tsonga (France) v Bellucci (Brazil)
All were great. Obviously the Murray match because he's a Brit and won but probably the best match for performance was the Tsonga match. Both men played so well!
My blip is Sharapova, as throughout her match and in between serves, she walked towards where we were sitting and spent a few seconds to think about her next move. It obviously worked as she won her match 6-2 6-0!
The kids enjoyed it, although they were getting tired by the end (the last match finished just before 8 in the evening).
But the most memorable part of the day involved a bit of luck. We had great seats and were sitting just behind the coaches and families of the players and also right by the exit. In Murray's match, he was playing a Swiss guy and in amongst the Swiss coaches was Federer! As he left he had to slow down towards the exit and Amy ran forward. He looked at her, smiled and then gave her his autograph. She was only one to get it... such a lovely man!
