Wildensee Lake

We had to go to the supermarket this morning as we were running out of food and drink, we ended up going to two diffeent places as the first one was just a discount store. By the time we got back and unpacked we decided to have an early lunch in the sun on the balcony. We set out for this afternoon's hike just after one o'clock and took some twisty roads up to the Kransberg chair lift. We've got tourist travel tickets and it included one free ride on the lift so we took the ride up the mountain. It was a bit scary at first as it was a steep ascent but after a few dep breaths I managed to enjoy it. What struck all three of us was how quiet it was up so high. We got off and hiked up to the summit where we had panoramic views over the valley, seeing where we'd walked yesterday with all the sheds.

We had to restrain ourselves from looking at all the insects on the way down or we'd have been there all night, there was so much to see. Rik got shouted at by a local for walking in a wildflower meadow, probably the Bavarian equivalent of "get off my land", we moved off very quickly after that! We stopped at this lake, Wildensee, for a breather watching numerous dragonflies zooming about the water. We even watched one laying eggs in the water, which I'll add as an extra. I've added another extra of the first sunset we saw from our balcony. I was lucky to get it as it didn't last long.

I'm feeling quite tired even though we didn't walk as much today and I used hiking sticks to help with the uphill paths.
