Birthday celebration

Today was the 70th birthday celebration for one of Sue’s long-time friends (they've known each other since the 70s). She and her partner live way out in the beautiful rural Oregon countryside. The food was plentiful and delicious, each dish labeled with its ingredients and possible allergens, respecting everyone’s dietary needs or whims. The mood was affectionate, and the crowd was asked to provide the entertainment. We had classical guitar, a flute, a banjo, some singing, an erotic reading of Molly Bloom’s soliloquy from James Joyce’s Ulysses, a poem by May Sarton, and a comedy dance routine. Not all at the same time. The birthday honoree asked that no pictures of her party be posted on social media, so here’s a field of red clover.

And now...introducing a new Blipper, Sue's sister who lives in Washington, the very one we visited last weekend. She has already posted three blips, including a rather wonderful close-up portrait of a quizzical porcupine. If you have a chance, drop by and welcome her.
